Vol. 13 No. 3 (2024): Commentaries from the U.S. Agroecology Summit 2023 and Open Call Papers

Cover of JAFSCD spring-summer 2024 issue, with artwork of two Black young women working on an agroecological farm

The spring-summer 2024 issue includes a set of commentaries that emerged from attendees of the U.S. Agroecology Summit 2023 in Kansas City, Missouri, USA. The cover art by co-author Ryan Tenney appears in one of the commentaries, Growing change at the intersection of art and agroecology. According to Tenney, "This painting is a view into a Black Agrarian future, with geodesic domes and autonomous microtractor out in the fields behind two youth cultivating the soil, planting seeds for the future. The red, black and green hues signal a post-colonial ecology." This issue also includes open-call papers on a range of food systems topics.

The JAFSCD special section of commentaries from the U.S. Agroecology Summit 2023 is supported by The University of Vermont Food Systems Research Center and the UVM Institute for Agroecology.
